Just after 4 am, a passerby called 9-1-1 to report a car on fire in a driveway on St. Rt. 139. Dispatch reported that they could hear the woman beating on the door of the house to wake up the owners.
Shortly afterward, the homeowner called 9-1-1 to report the fire, as did a neighbor who told dispatch that a car had just blown up in the driveway next door.
Firefighters responded to the scene to put out the flames.
Dumpster Fire on St. Rt. 104
Just before 5 p.m., a man called 9-1-1 to report that someone had set fire to a Rumpke dumpster in his driveway. The caller said he managed to put out the flames himself and did not call the fire department.
The caller said the dumpster had some damage, and Rumpke asked that he file a police report about it. However, the man was out of town at the moment.
Officers said they would respond to the scene, inspect the damage, and then file the report when the man returned home.
