Carjacking Reported at Dollar General in South Webster
A man contacted deputies at 5:50 pm to report attackers hit him over the head and stole his purple Ford Mustang. He said the thieves had parked a block away and were currently cleaning out his car.
Dispatch lost contact with the man, but a few minutes later, a witness reported a man with a bloody head walking down the road. Officers searched for the man but could not locate him. Another witness called in to report the man got into a vehicle and left the area.

Officers did locate the Mustang with dealer tags on Dodds Street. Officers contacted the hospital to ask it to contact officers should someone come in with those injuries.
Police discovered the license plate on the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Adams County two years ago.

The victim called around 3 am to tell police that a passerby picked him up and transported him to the hospital. He said the hospital called the police, but no officers arrived. Police took a short statement from the man and said they would get a longer one when he was discharged from the hospital.
Officers also returned to the Dollar General to look for video surveillance. The man provided the names of possible suspects, and the officer began a search for those involved.
