Charlene Danielle Edwards, 54, passed away Thursday, May 25th, at SOMC ER.
Charlene was born September 5, 1969 to Charles Lewis and Doris Edwards . She was welcomed into her new life in heaven by her parents and four siblings : Lenora Edwards , Donald Edwards, Chris Garnett and Sean Garnett.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Maxwell Edwards, and four siblings: Micha Edwards, Melody Jordan, Anna Lisa Jordan, and Joyce Laco. Charlene also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Charlene graduated from Portsmouth West High School in 1987. She also received her bachelor’s degree from Shawnee State University. Charlene was employed by SOMC and also worked as a caregiver and in retail before her beloved son was born. Her primary concern was his well-being and he was the light of her life.
Charlene was warm, genuine and loyal. She was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to have her in their lives.
Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday from noon until the time of service.
