Charlotte Joyce Lambert McCray, 79, of South Shore, KY, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH. She was born in Portsmouth, OH, on August 5, 1946, a daughter of the late Basil and Juanita McCleese Lambert.
Charlotte retired from Westside Foodland after 33 years. Her family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one son-in-law, Mike Burley; one sister, Lora (Kitchen) Hamilton, and one brother, Cavin (Chip) Lambert.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, John McCray, whom she cherished; one daughter, Julie Altiers Burley of Somerset, OH; one son, Chris (Jaimi) Bloomfield of Lancaster, OH; step-daughter, Amy (Rick) Caves of Ironton, OH; step-son, Johnny McCray of Grove City, OH; three grandchildren, Amber (Marvin) White of Somerset, OH, Mark (Megan) Welch of Thornville, OH and Alisha (Travis) Valentine of New Lexington, OH; two step-grandchildren, Austin (Shaylee) Chapman of Portsmouth, OH and Aleigha Chapman of Ironton, OH; nine great-grandchildren, Ace, Levi, Owen, Michael, Michael, Samuel, Matthew, Penelope and Ashton; two brothers, Loren Kitchen of Shelby NC and Steven Lambert of Columbus, OH; one sister, Colena Lambert of Columbus, OH; one sister-in-law, Jane Lambert of Stockdale, OH, along with several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be 12 P.M. Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, with Leroy Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Firebrick Cemetery in Firebrick, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 11 A.M until the service hour on Wednesday.
