A late-night confrontation over suspected cheating spiraled into chaos, ending with overturned furniture, shattered belongings, and a husband in handcuffs.
Deputies say the woman calmly confronted her husband, Gregory Truitt, around 1:45 a.m. with proof he’d been unfaithful. Instead of apologizing, she told officers, he snatched her phone, pushed her around, and choked her before hurling the phone against the wall. When he allegedly kept throwing and smashing items, she hid in the bathroom shower and called 911.
Officers found Truitt later at his mother’s house and arrested him without incident. He was booked into the Lawrence County Jail on domestic violence charges and has since pleaded not guilty in municipal court. A pre-trial hearing is set for October 31.
The victim told deputies this wasn’t the first time — just last month, she says she was hospitalized after a similar attack but didn’t file charges because she didn’t want to “ruin his life.”
