Child Rapist Gets 43 Years In Jail
A Jackson County Judge, Christoper Regan, sentenced convicted child rapist Robert Nickell to 43 years in jail after a jury convicted him on three counts of rape, one count of sexual battery, and one count of gross sexual imposition.
Law enforcement learned of the 50-year-old man’s crimes when a child in Nickell’s family told a neighbor he’d tried to rape her. When officers investigated, they discovered he’d been sexually abusing the child for years.
The Jackson County Grand Jury indicted him on February 21, and the jury found him guilty on April 27. Judge Regan sentenced him to the maximum term in prison of Friday. He will not be eligible for early release and is required to register as a tier III sex offender for life.
