Columbus Man Charged in Hit and Run 

A 28-year-old man faces a long list of charges after prosecutors say he failed to stop after an accident. During its latest session, the Scioto County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments against 28-year-old Joey Westbrook, Jr.. 

Westbrook faces two charges of failure to stop after an accident and two additional charges of failure to comply with a police order.  

The Columbus, Ohio, man is also charged with identity fraud, tampering with evidence, and possessing criminal tools. 

Westbrook’s legal troubles don’t stop there. The Grand Jury also indicted him for possession of a fentanyl-related compound and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound.  

Strange Behavior on 9Th Street 

At 5:30 pm, witnesses reported a woman acting strangely in front of an apartment building on 9th Street.  

When police arrived on the scene, they took 32-year-old woman into custody on an open warrant for failure to appear. This was her 13th arrest, and her 4th tip to the Scioto County Jail of 2023.  

Previous charges include multiple incidents of disorderly conduct, trespass, domestic violence, assault, and probation violation.  

At 6 pm, Gallia Street callers reported a man wearing jeans and one glove acting strangely on the lot of the BP. However, the man left the scene before officers arrived.  

At 8 pm, a caller reported a shoeless woman sitting in the yard of a 12th Street home. An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital for treatment.  

Parolee Busted for Drug Paraphernalia on Harrison Street 

Portsmouth Police took a 39-year-old man into custody after investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle on Harrison Street.  

Witnesses said a red car had been parked in a lot for several hours with a man inside. When police arrived on the scene, they took a man with a lengthy arrest record into custody on a drug paraphernalia charge and arranged to tow his vehicle.  

This was Sean Delong’s 11th arrest. Previous arrests include DUI, failure to appear, parole violation, burglary, drug possession, receiving stolen property, probation violation, drug trafficking, grand theft, domestic violence, aggravated menacing, criminal damaging, and disorderly conduct.  

He is currently on parole, having been released back in October of last year.  

Deputies and an officer went to the address the victim gave him and retrieved his bicycle. The man was satisfied to have his bike back and did not want to press charges.
