Commissioners Excited For Return of Drive-In to Lucasville

Scioto County Commissioner is excited about the return of drive-in movies to Lucasville. Growing Lucasville Opportunities (GLO) is bringing movies back to the old Scioto Breeze Drive-In on Friday, June 16, and Saturday, June 17.

Friday’s event will feature screenings of Top Gun Maverick and Cars as well as music by DJ Frankfrank.

Saturday’s shows will Be Guardians of the Galaxy and Shrek, with entertainment by WNXT. Gates open at 6 pm.

“Keep in mind that this is a fundraiser,” Commissioner Scottie Powell said. “It’s $40 a car for however many people you can get in your car. Tickets go on sale June 4 and are likely to sell out quickly.”

Powell said the money raised would go towards keeping the momentum going on several exciting projects in the Lucasville area. “A new park, the activities around Christmas, the Christmas tree – the GLO group’s doing fantastic work out there.”

Commissioner Cathy Coleman said, “A lot of young people today may not even know what a drive-in is. We’re so happy they’re bringing that opportunity back.”

“Just get outside,” Commissioner Bryan Davis said, “Enjoy the beautiful weekend.”
