Portsmouth Police Officers came to the aid of a confused elderly man and his best friend after a caller alerted them to an issue in the parking lot of the CVS on 11th Street.
The witness said there was a confused older man parked in the handicapped parking space.
When officers arrived, they found a confused man in a car with North Carolina plates. They said he had a head injury and had soiled himself. He was not able to tell officers where he was from or where he was going.
EMS transported him to SOMC for treatment and officers impounded his vehicle for safekeeping. Animal Control took possession of his small dog. Police contacted Adult Protective Service, and they will attempt to find the man’s family.
