A worried granddaughter contacted 9-1-1 at 10:50 pm after she said a taxi dropped her confused elderly grandfather off in West Portsmouth after he was released from the hospital. She said she was unable to get him from the hospital herself. An officer checked the area but could not find him.
At the same time, another caller reported a man was sitting on the front porch of a West Portsmouth home. An officer took the man to the Super 8 in Rosemount to get a room for the night around midnight.
At 3 am, the woman contacted 9-1-1 because she said she tried to find the man at the motel, but they said he was not there. Officers sent out a BOLO to other agencies to help locate the man.
At the time of this report, he had not officially been contacted by police. We will update you if authorities can provide more details.
