Portsmouth Police Officers reminded some nighttime bike riders about important safety rules overnight.
Just before 2 am, a caller reported a suspicious man riding a bicycle near Speedway. An officer stopped the man and advised him that his bicycle needed a light.
Half an hour later, officers spotted another bicyclist near 14th and Robinson. They warned the man that the bike needed a light and a reflector for safe nighttime riding.
Just before 6 am, an officer spotted another man on a bike in the 2000 block of 7th Street. Police discovered he had open warrants.

Police took Dustin Jackson into custody for failure to appear. Jackson was busted four months ago in the backyard of a Coles Blvd home and charged with burglary.
The 34-year-old man has previous arrests for probation violation, contempt, driving without a license, failure to appear, OVI, burglary, breaking and entering, and possession of criminal tools.
