At 8 pm, officers responded to a report of two small kids pushing an infant in a stroller with no parents around on 9th Street.
When police got to the scene, they found a 12-year-old and 11-year-old pushing a 3-year-old in a stroller. Officers learned all three kids live with their grandmother and that she regularly sends the 11 and 12-year-old to the store to get groceries for the family.
However, when the Family Dollar didn’t have the all-calcium milk the toddler needed, the older kids decided to go on to Kroger to find the right milk. Officers noted the toddler was properly secured in a stroller.
Officers were impressed with the kids and said they had the competency level of adults. However, police told them to tell grandma that it might be a good idea to leave the toddler at home.
