Once again, Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies were called into action to help round up cattle, this time appropriately on Roy Rogers Road.
The call came in about 8:40 am, and the caller said the loose bovine were grazing in her yard. She said it was an ongoing problem.
A deputy headed to the scene to track down the owner and explain that he needs to fix his fence or face fines every time the cows got loose. However, there was no one home. So the deputy left a note.
Police received another cattle call at 1:12 pm. This time a report of cows in the middle of the road on St. Rt. 139. An officer spotted one black cow in the road and was able to persuade it to join three other friends down near the creek.
The deputy said it appeared water from the creek may have risen and caused the fence to come loose. The deputy was able to herd the cows back onto the property. The officer then headed to the house and barn to see if anyone was home.
Yet another cow call came in just after 7 pm. A Blue Run Township Road resident told officers someone had shot one of his cows. He believed he knew who was responsible. Deputies took information for a report.
