A 46-year-old Portsmouth man with a long history of drug arrests is accused of selling drugs near a school. According to court records, the Scioto County Grand Jury handed down an indictment charging him with six drug-related offenses.
Court records say that back in August, Kim Underwood sold or attempted to sell a large amount of meth in the vicinity of a school.
He’s charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, one count of aggravated possession, possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, and tampering with evidence.
He’s scheduled to appear in Scioto County Common Pleas Court on December 18 for arraignment.
Underwood has a lengthy court record with drug trafficking charges dating back to 2003. He’s appeared in court at least 11 times in the past 21 years and was sentenced to prison for cocaine trafficking back in 2015. However, the court let him out on judicial release in 2017 with five years of court supervision. Underwood was found in violation of his probation in 2019 and ordered to attend regular mental counseling. He violated probation several times but was released from community control back in July of 2022.
