Scioto County has shut some county offices to the public in an effort to slow the surge of COVID-19. Health Departments reported 626 new cases of the virus in the county last week and 5 additional deaths.
Commissioners announced the temporary restrictions to public offices on Monday, December 14. They suspended public office hours for:
The Scioto County Auditor
Scioto County Treasurer
Scioto County Recorder
According to commissioners, the offices will be closed to the public until further notice. However, the offices will be staffed. Workers can take phone calls and process any documents received in the mail. Commissioners asked citizens to make use of the websites for these offices whenever possible. Commissioners said, “We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to serve you as safely and effectively as possible throughout the COVID-19 threat.”
