A frantic call for help led Scioto County Sheriff’s deputies to the road in front of the rehab facility on US 23, where a man had reportedly threatened to end his life by jumping into traffic.
By the time officers arrived, the man had already left, possibly heading toward Portsmouth. Deputies quickly contacted Portsmouth Police, who launched a search for the troubled individual. After locating him, officers arranged for an ambulance to transport him to Southern Ohio Medical Center for treatment.
