A worried father contacted PPD just after 1 am. He said his child was at SOMC being treated for a mental health crisis and he felt he was being kept from the child.
The hospital wanted to transport the child to another facility, but the father had doubts about that move. Police said the man did not appear to be a safety issue and they felt their presence was not required.
The parents talked over treatment options with a social worker and decided they would likely consent to the transfer.
