A mom and daughter threw down over purses, and the altercation left the mom bleeding.
Just before 9 pm, deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving a mother and a daughter. Witnesses said the daughter had driven into her mother’s driveway at a high rate of speed and almost hit someone before getting out of the vehicle, jumping over a porch railing, and digging her nails into her mom’s arms to the point where she bled.
The daughter then ran inside to get some purses. Another woman in the house threw the purses into the yard, and the daughter went outside to get them.
The mother tried to get the daughter’s keys out of her vehicle, but the daughter pushed her mother out of the way and drove back to her home in Chesapeake.
When deputies arrived at the daughter’s home, they placed her under arrest and took her to the Lawrence County Jail.
The daughter said she had discovered that a family member had taken multiple purses from her and listed them for sale on Facebook. She said that when she tried to go into her mother’s house and look for the items, her mother and the relative had attempted to stop her and grabbed her by the hair.
She denied harming her mother and said she didn’t know why her mother was bleeding.
