Deputies Arrest Man in Domestic Violence Complaint, Court Appoints Public Defender

Taylor Marcum

Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Taylor Marcum after responding to a home where his ex-wife reported he was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave.

Deputies say they found Marcum still at the residence and took him into custody on a domestic violence complaint. He was booked into the Scioto County Jail and appeared the next day in Portsmouth Municipal Court. A judge released him on his own recognizance while the case moves forward.

On September 3, the court declared Marcum indigent, appointed him a public defender, and waived the $25 application fee. He is scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial hearing on September 16.
