Scioto County Sheriff’s Officers were called in to help in several drug-related incidents.
Portsmouth Ambulance contacted the deputies saying they took a call from several kids who said their friend smoked something and passed out, and they couldn’t wake him up. Medics requested a deputy accompany them on the call.
Fortunately, it turned out that no juveniles were on the scene. Medics said a man had partied too hard with pot and booze, but they were able to wake him up. He refused a ride to the hospital.
Three hours later, officers responded to a frantic mom who said her daughter had overdosed in the garage of a home on New Globe Road. However, the mom administered Narcan and was able to revive the daughter before help arrived. The daughter ran off before EMS got there.
Employees at the Quality Inn on the Scioto Trail called the police after an apparently high woman passed out by the doors to the hotel. They said they’d asked her to leave but she had refused to. By the time officers arrived, the woman had wandered off.
