A man accused of flipping out at his friends after they said he needed to lay off drugs is in even more trouble.
We told you last week that Logan Brace was accused of shooting up a camper after friends suggested he get help for substance abuse issues. Now, that same couple thinks the man is targeting them again, only this time on social media.
When officers responded to the couple’s home in Chesapeake, they learned the couple had received a friend request from an allegedly fake Snapchat account that had sent them multiple death threats. He said the person making the threats said, “If you don’t tell me, you know I’m going to shoot up your camper again.”
The person also made threats to break into their residence and steal their dog. Officers said there were already multiple open warrants for the man’s arrest, so they attempted to track him down and take him into custody. They also forwarded screenshots of the Snapchat threats to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
A couple of days later, officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle on the way to another call. They turned on lights and sirens, but the man didn’t pull over for half a mile. When officers approached his vehicle with guns drawn, they noted a handgun in the seat under his legs.
Officers noted the suspect smelled strongly of alcohol and that his eyes were bloodshot. He told them he wanted to speak to his lawyer. Police also found a baggie of pills on the center console along with several empty alcohol containers in addition to several rocks of cocaine and some straws with drug residue. Officers impounded the gun as well as the drugs and took Logan Brace into custody.
Brace now faces charges of aggravated menacing, phone harassment, failure to comply, tampering with evidence, improper handling of a firearm, and cocaine possession.
