Portsmouth Police responded to multiple incidents involving drinking and bad behavior.
Just before 1 am, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office contacted PPD and said they’d had several calls from JJ Shenanigans about a disturbance. When officers arrived at the bar, they learned a patron was throwing drinks around the bar and at the bartender. No one was injured, and nothing was damaged. Officers told the bar to call them if the patron returned.
At 8 pm, a witness reported two shirtless men locked inside the fence between Spartan Stadium and the levy. The caller said the pair were intoxicated and screaming at each other.
Shawnee State University Officers arrived on the scene and got a key to the locked fence from the baseball coach to let the men out.
At 3 am, a caller reported a large disturbance at a party on 8th Street. Officers headed to the scene and the crowd dispersed.
