A family called 9-1-1 around 2:30 a.m. to report their child had a fever and other symptoms and had passed out.
The local squad wasn’t available, nor was EMT Ohio. Portsmouth Ambulance sent a squad but it appears there was a mix-up between the county address and a street with the same name in Portsmouth. The call was sent back and forth between agencies, and Portsmouth Ambulance was not able to find the right street.
The squad was finally directed to the correct home around 3:20, but by the time the squad arrived, the father said the mother had already driven the child to the hospital.
