A Sciotoville house fire turned tragic on Tuesday evening. The fire was called into 9-1-1 just before 6 pm. Firefighters, medics, and officers rushed to the scene.
Shortly afterward, neighbors posed images of the home fully engulfed in flames. Residents said they believed someone was inside and stood nervously by as firefighters battled to get the flames under control. Dispatch contacted AEP and Columbia Gas to shut off utilities, and the Fire Department also requested they call in the Waterworks Division.
Additionally, dispatch contacted the State Fire Marshal to investigate. Once the fire was controlled, first responders made a tragic discovery and contacted the Coroner’s Office.
