Fight Breaks Out at Hospital Over Dog Bite
Animal Control and PPD officers responded to 6th Street after a witness reported people fighting after a dog bit a child just after 5 pm.
When officers arrived on the scene, they contacted animal control. The animal control officer took information for a report and put the dog in quarantine.
However, the fight didn’t stop there. About four hours later, police answered a call at SOMC for a report of people fighting with the hospital staff.
The suspects turned out to be relatives of the child injured in the dog bite incident. They were agitated because the hospital had not yet treated the injured child.
The hospital barred both individuals from the property, and police advised everyone to calm down.
Man Claims Someone Shot His Dog
A Kendall Avenue man contacted police at 1:26 am to report that someone had shot his son’s dog. He said he found the dog with a gunshot wound fifteen minutes earlier.
When police arrived at the scene, they determined the dog had been hit by a car. The animal had a road rash on his back and was also suffering from head trauma, causing it to bleed from both ears.
Officers saw no evidence of a gunshot wound.
