Judge Mark Kuhn sentenced Brooklyn Frazie, 42, to life in prison for murdering 44-year-old Darrell (Scott) Donahoe in a drug-fueled rampage last September. Frazie will not be eligible for parole for 34 years.
It took the jury three hours to find her guilty of aggravated murder and 10 other felony charges stemming from the incident where she chased Donahoe, who was riding a motorcycle, across the county in an SUV at high speeds before she hit him in New Boston. According to numerous witnesses, Frazier then dragged Donahoe almost 60 feet before backing over him. Law enforcement says the only thing that stopped Frazie’s rampage was the intervention of good Samaritans. Passersby attempted to render medical aid to Donahoe and retried jacks to lift Frazie’s vehicle off his body.
At the time, law enforcement captured Frazie on body cameras, claiming Donahoe had wrecked his motorcycle in front of her.
Donahoe’s fatal injuries included 14 rib fractures and severe liver lacerations that caused internal bleeding.
During the trial in Scioto County Common Pleas Court, witnesses testified that Frazie had chased Donahoe for 14 miles, and crash experts said her version of events didn’t fit with the evidence. Law enforcement said Ms. Frazie had meth in her system and Suboxone on her at the time of the crime.
During the trial, Ms. Frazie claimed she and Donahoe were headed out to dinner at the time of the accident and that she was only chasing him to let him know his kickstand was dragging. She denied being under the influence and said the state’s numerous witnesses were either mistaken or lying.
The jury deliberated for less than three hours before finding her guilty on all counts.
