Good Samaritan Rescues Woman From Domestic Violence

Good Samaritan

Officers took a man into custody after investigating a domestic incident that started at the New Boston Walmart and continued on into Sciotoville.

Police said the first incident happened at Walmart in New Boston, but the NBPD were not able to get officers on the scene.

A caller then reported a man beating a woman in a vehicle. They said she got out of the car and a passerby came to her aid and took her to the Sciotoville Fire Station for safety.

Officers responded to the scene to take the woman’s report. She told police she feared the man was headed to her mother’s home to start trouble.  Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies headed out to the mother’s home to check on her safety.  PPD officers also advised deputies the man could have a gun on him.

When officers arrived at the mother’s home, she said the man had shown up, but he hadn’t made any threats, just packed up his stuff and left.

However, he returned to the mother’s house a few hours later and did make threats. Deputies took him into custody and searched his vehicle.

Officers reported finding drugs in the car. They transported him to town and turned him over to PPD officers, who arrested Scottie Dale Church and arrested him for domestic violence. They booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
