A terrified grandmother found her overdosed grandson unresponsive in his room just before 5 pm. She immediately called 911 and EMS and deputies responded to the home.
By the time they arrived, the grandson was awake and a relative had helped him to the bathroom. Officers described him as pale, staggering, and vomiting. A relative explained that she had revived him with a dose of Narcan.
The man told deputies he’d taken what he believed to be Klonopin and used meth earlier in the week. Upon further questioning, he admitted to using heroin.
Officers found a baggy of pills in the victim’s room. EMS workers found a container of what appeared to be heroin or Fentanyl in the man’s pocket while they were loading him into the ambulance.
Family members told officers the man had a history of drug abuse and that they had allowed him to move in in hopes of keeping him away from drugs.
Medics transported him to the hospital, and officers provided the grandmother with a pamphlet outlining treatment options.
