High-Speed Parking Lot Run Ends in OVI Arrest

High Speed parking lot chase

A report of a man speeding through the Party Time Bar parking lot ended with an OVI arrest and a vehicle being towed.

Portsmouth police were called to the bar at approximately 2 a.m. after someone reported a driver traveling through the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

When officers arrived, they took Steven Mollett into custody for being in physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

Police arranged to have the vehicle towed and booked Mollett into the Scioto County Jail.

He later appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court on an OVI charge. Court records also indicate that a blood-alcohol reading was recorded.

Mollett was released on bond and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 18.

The charge is an allegation. Mollett is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
