Homeless Man Tangles With Dash-Thru Employee
Employees at the Dash Thru on Gallia contacted officers to report that a homeless man had gotten into with an employee. They said the man was now standing in the corner of the parking lot.
Officers spoke to the man and explained that he was now barred from the property.
Officers responded to a fight at the Speedway down the street at 2:45 am after an employee reported two customers got into a fight. Police served a no-trespass order and took a man into custody for disorderly conduct.
Counterfeit Money Passed at Local Business
Just after 9 am, officers responded to the Diamond Gem Lending Company on Chillicothe for a report of a customer passing a counterfeit $50 bill.
When officers responded to the business, the owner explained that he was not out any money as he recognized the bill was fake, but he did not want to return the fake money to the customer.
He gave officers the customer’s name, and the police confiscated the fake bill.
Door Kicked in at Grocery Store Outlet
Just before 5 am, officers responded to the Grocery Store Outlet on 11th Street for a report that the door had been kicked in.
Officers took pictures of the scene and observed that nothing seemed to be missing. Police could not contact the owner, so an officer secured the door as best they could.
Thieves Plague Local Businesses
Thieves continue to cause problems for local businesses. Just after 4:30 am, a caller reported a man inside the fence at Goodwill. Officers said he hadn’t damaged or taken anything, but they did get his information in case Goodwill wanted to file trespassing charges.
At 9:26 am, officers received a complaint from a storage facility on Walnut Street that a thief had made off with some moving blankets. Police took information for a report.
