A driver who failed to pull over for a traffic stop let Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies on a chase through the county.
It started at 2:19 a.m. when the vehicle refused to pull over on St. Rt. 73 near Euton Road.
The vehicle sped up to 70 mph before it headed to Otway and got up to nearly 100 mph in the vicinity of the covered bridge.
Deputies tried to call OSP for backup but no troopers were in the area. The driver eventually slowed down to around 50 miles an hour as they headed towards Rarden and then onto Rt. 772.
Officers altered deputies in both Adams and Pike County for assistance. Adams County officers set up at Rt. 32 and Union Hill Road.
The driver sped up to 75 miles an hour as it entered Pike County and deputies called off the chase. Pike and Adams officers took over the search for the suspect driver.
