If you’re driving a stolen car, you’d better be ready to run—but even then, the cops will catch up with you!
That’s exactly what happened around 6:30 PM when a Portsmouth Police officer spotted a stolen vehicle from Tennessee near Jackson and Campbell Avenue. The driver, later identified as Mason Armstrong, must have realized the jig was up because he jumped out of the car and bolted into a house—but his escape attempt didn’t last long. Officers were right behind him and nabbed him in no time!
Police wasted no time calling a tow truck to haul away the hot wheels, and to make matters worse for Armstrong, officers discovered he already had an open warrant. Now, he’s sitting in the Scioto County Jail, facing charges of receiving stolen property.
WARNING TO DRIVERS: If you’re behind the wheel of a stolen car—even if you’re not the one who took it—you could still land in big trouble! Police don’t care how you got it; if it’s stolen, you could be charged with a crime. So, before you hop in and hit the gas, make sure the car you’re driving is actually yours!
One thing’s for sure—running from the cops never ends well!
