Officers launched an investigation after a high school student made a disturbing statement to an elementary school student during the morning ride to school on the bus.
The assistant principal told officers that a high school student had allegedly told other students he had a gun and hunted people on the bus. Witnesses said the older boy was talking to an elementary school student at the time.
Officers met with the Rock Hill High School student who allegedly made the threat and his guardian. The boy said he’d been talking about having a gun when the elementary student mentioned it was illegal for a minor to have a gun and asked if he used it for hunting animals. The older boy said he had said he used it for hunting people to get the younger student to stop annoying him.
The school suspended the boy for 10 days, and the deputy cited the boy before releasing him to his grandfather.
