“Naked” Woman Reported at Wheelersburg Kroger
A caller demanded deputies check the Wheelersburg Kroger for what she called a “naked” woman.
She complained that a woman was wearing inappropriately short shorts and refused to wear long pants because they bothered the cellulitis in her legs.
Officers explained to the woman that they could not make someone else wear long pants. The woman then called the Porter Township Fire Department to see if anyone there would take action about the lack of pants.
Police did check with the Kroger store manager, who said there was no one naked in the store.
Sextortion Blackmailer Targets Girl
A worried mom contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office after an anonymous blackmailer sent her daughter emails claiming they would put nude photos of her on the internet if she didn’t send money.
The girl said the photos weren’t of her, but the blackmailer did have a lot of her other personal information, all of which was available on the social media platforms she used.
Officers explained that this is a common online scam and that it is difficult to figure out exactly who is making the threats.
They advised the girl on the danger of sharing any information online and advised changing all of her passwords.
