Corrections Officers at the Scioto County Jailed called 9-1-1 just after noon on Easter to report an injured inmate.
They said an inmate had broken his glasses and then stabbed himself in the stomach.
Dispatch reached out to Portsmouth Ambulance and EMT Ohio to send crews, but they had no one available.

Portsmouth Fire Department medics responded to the scene. The report did not indicate the current condition of the inmate.
