Jim Dandy & Portsmouth Taxi Vehicles Go Missing
Two separate incidents involving drivers that did not want to give back vehicles happened within 20 minutes on Saturday night.
Just after 8 pm, Jim Dandy restaurant reported that their delivery driver had taken off with the restaurant’s delivery vehicle and some cash. Officers took information for a report.
Twenty minutes later, Portsmouth Taxi said a driver took a vehicle and refused to return the key. Officers located the taxi and 15th and Waller and had it towed at the owner’s request.
The owner of the company said if he didn’t have his key and the company’s money by the next day, he planned to file a theft report.
However, just after midnight, the driver contacted the police to report that he had been robbed at gunpoint earlier in the evening and that someone had stolen his taxi. Officers took information for a report.
The next morning, the owner of Jim Dandy located the delivery vehicle and had it towed back to the restaurant.
