Pike County law enforcement contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 3 in the morning to ask for help in the search for a juvenile who’d been missing since the weekend.
The boy’s mother said he cut off his ankle bracelet and fled Pike County to hide at his aunt’s house. The mom said the boy’s aunt would try to show a video that proved her home was unfit, but that it was all some type of set-up.
When officers went to the address provided, they claimed not to know the boy. The mom arrived shortly after and said she thought the boy was hiding out to avoid going to court after cutting off his ankle monitor.
Police advised the mom to go home, but she called back a few minutes later to report that the aunt called her and said that the boy was at her home.
When officers contacted Pike County, they thought it best that the boy did not go with his mother. Instead, Scioto County Deputies transported the boy to the county line and handed him over to law enforcement.
