Linda Lou Fields, 76, of Wheelersburg, a longtime Portsmouth resident, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Best Care Nursing Home. She was born in Portsmouth on September 9, 1948, to the late Charles Anderson and Lucy Ellen Owsley Fields.
A 1966 graduate of McKell High School, Linda received an Associate Degree in Counseling from Ashland Community College, and began work at the Scioto County Developmental Disabilities Board in 1984. She was a former softball coach in Portsmouth and a talented musician.
Linda especially enjoyed playing music with her sister, Rosemary. She also enjoyed animals, nature and spending time with her nieces, nephews and their families.
Surviving Linda are her beloved nieces and nephews, Kala (Josh) Pinson of Lucasville, Cassie Bradford of Columbus, Tyler Bradford of Portsmouth and Haley (Jeff) Sigman of Rosemount; great-nieces and nephews, Rosie and Avery Pinson, Ember Bradford and Chloe Sigman; and many special cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Raymond Bradford; and nephews, Tim and Terry Bradford.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. John Gowdy officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the service hour.
