Linda (Vastine) Marcum, 72, of Lucasville, died Monday, December 8, 2025, at SOMC Hospice. She was born February 7, 1953, in Portsmouth, to the late Robert Gordon and Ada Juanita Chaffin Vastine.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roger Tackett Jr., and her brother, Larry Charles Vastine.
Throughout her life, Linda worked in several caretaking roles, a line of work that suited her naturally. She especially valued her years as a homemaker, devoting her time to her family and home. Linda enjoyed attending church and singing gospel music, and in her younger years she loved horseback riding and spending time outdoors.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ronnie Marcum; her two daughters, Brandee Tackett and Angel (Joe Tipman) Tackett; four grandchildren, Rusty (Bronte) Tackett, Destanee Tackett, Brandon (Kari) Lute, and Nikki Tackett; and eleven great-grandchildren, Caden, Maleah, Brantley, Radley, Brayleigh, Levi, Kynlee, Aubriella, Kyndall, Kyler, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her twin sister, Debbie Pratt; nieces and nephews, Angie, Lora, Paul, and Larry; a great-niece, Kayla; and many other special great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with George Vastine officiating. Visitation will be on Friday starting at 11:00 AM. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
