Logan woman killed in front of police by husband

When Hocking County 911 received a call early Monday saying that a 34- year-old Logan, Ohio woman had been kidnapped by her estranged husband from a home on Nutter-Boring Road, they immediately dispatched Deputies.

It didn’t take officers from the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office long to catch up with 34-year-old Kevin Nutter driving on Maysville-Williams Road with his wife, Natalie Nutter, still in the vehicle.

After a short chase, Kevin stopped in a driveway along the road. Instead of surrendering to police, he immediately shot and killed his wife and then turned the gun on himself before officers had a chance to do anything.

Hocking County EMS personnel pronounced them both dead at the scene. The Logan Fire Department and Hocking County Coroner’s Office also assisted at the scene.

The couple’s young son, who witnessed the kidnapping and went for help, was unharmed and is safe with relatives.

Police say the situation with Mr. Nutter was ongoing and that Mrs. Nutter had filed a protection order, which her husband had violated.
