Officers took a 27-year-old man into custody after a report of an assault at the BP on Gallia.
Just before noon, a caller said he was assaulted by an unknown man who went inside the gas station.

When officers arrived, they took Russell Hammonds into custody for assault and booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
