Man Arrested After Police Pursuit
Officers arrested a man after they responded to a report of an assault on 7th Street just after 1 am.
A witness contacted police and said they saw a man push a woman at a home and then bang on the door, attempting to get inside. The man then took off in a truck and rammed the woman’s car before heading towards the stadium.
Officers caught up with him about 5 minutes later, and he took off on foot. They caught up with him quickly and took him into custody.
Family Feud Ends in Broken Bones
Just after 3 pm, PPD responded to a report of a domestic situation. A caller said she got into it with her stepfather, and he put his hands around her neck and pushed her out of the house. She was waiting on the porch to speak with officers.
Twenty minutes later, Portsmouth Ambulance called in to say they were responding to the same house after a man said his mother had broken his hand.
When officers arrived on the scene, the woman suspected of bone breaking had left. Officers took information for a report.
Passed Out At CVS
Officers dealt with multiple cases of people falling asleep on the streets.
At 5 pm, a caller reported a man nodding in and out sitting next to a dumpster on 10th Street. When officers spoke to the man, he said he was just searching the dumpster for cans.
At 6 pm, a caller reported a man in a wheelchair passed out on the sidewalk at CVS. When officers arrived on the scene, the man said he was just sleeping. Police advised him to move on and find somewhere else to nap.
BB Gun Bandits Hit 4th Street
Another report of a Portsmouth Resident assaulted with a BB gun.
Just after 9 pm, a 4th Street caller said a black SUV rolled by and shot at her boyfriend with a BB gun.
While the caller got a look at the vehicle and the style of BB gun, she did not get a license plate.
