Man Arrested For 17th Time After Assaulting Mom

Police arrested a man with a history of domestic violence charges on Wednesday morning after a report came in that he was at his mother’s Wayne Hills apartment and had physically assaulted her. 

Officers took 31-year-old Carless Cummings into custody for violating a protection order. This was his second arrest this month for violating a protection order. 

This was his 17th arrest. Previous charges include domestic violence, weapons, and drug possession, criminal damaging, probation violation, obstructing official business, and aggravated menacing. 

Cummings is housed at the Scioto County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

Road Raging on Gallia Street

A man fed up with bad drivers caused a bit of a scene on Friday afternoon. At 1:30 pm, a caller reported a man in a red truck with yellow lights using an intercom on the truck to yell at other drivers. They said he told people to pull over and slow down. The driver was last seen pulling into the Lot at Livingston’s.

When officers spoke to the driver, they discovered he was angry at another driver for tailgating him. 

Fire Spotted Under Young Street Overpass

A witness contacted PPD at 12:31 am to report several people staying under the Young Street Overpass had a fire going.

Officers spoke to a man who had started a campfire and stood by while he put it out with water. Police advised him not to light fires.
