An upset Woods Ridge Road man contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report that his neighbor had his dog that he’d previously reported stolen.
When officers spoke to the man, he said he spotted his dog across the road at the neighbor’s house but when he called for the animal, the neighbor took it inside.
Officers asked for proof of ownership. The man said he had registration papers and officers suggested he bring it to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies did try to speak with the neighbor, but no one was home.
Two days later, the man asked if an officer would go to Pond Run to look for the dog. An officer spoke to a woman who said she found the dog walking loose on the road. An officer returned the dog to its owner.
