Just after 11:30 pm, officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. A woman told 9-1-1 someone was trying to get into her house, and after that, all dispatch heard was screaming.
Officers spotted a man walking away from the house and took him into custody. Then they spoke to the woman who lived in the South Point home and a male companion.
She said she heard someone messing with her front door, then kicking the storm door before fleeing to her bedroom to lock the door. She said her ex-boyfriend broke into the house and kicked in the bedroom door. The man also attacked her male visitor.
She said she tried to separate the two, but they kept fighting as her friend tried to remove the ex from the house. She said the ex punched her in the face.
Officers took pictures of the broken window where the man entered and collected fingerprints. They also called CPS, since the ex-boyfriend had left his children home alone to break into his former girlfriend’s house.
