Officers responded to several issues involving drugs, including an overdose in Tracy Park.
The first incident was just before 5 am, when a woman with a substance abuse issue caused a problem for a 24th Street resident.
The resident contacted officers to say his friend’s niece showed up at his house and caused a disturbance. He feared the woman was on drugs.
Three officers went to the scene and spoke with the woman. She agreed to leave the house and check into rehab. The residents agreed not to press charges.
A few hours later, at noon, an apparently high man prompted 17th Street residents to call the police. A member of the drug crisis quick response team headed to the scene and convicted the man to seek treatment.
At 6:30 pm, police responded to Tracy Park for a report of a man lying on the sidewalk. Officers and medic responded to the scene. Police said the man had overdosed. He agreed to go with a counselor to a rehab facility for treatment.
