A man flagged down deputies after he claimed his in-laws suddenly opened fire on him.
The man said he went to his wife’s parents’ house to speak to her, and his father-in-law pulled a gun and threatened him. He said the man shot at him.
When officers spoke to the father-in-law, he said the son-in-law came over to the house looking for his wife. When he told him she wasn’t there, the man said he didn’t know. He told the man he’d received a call saying the woman was in danger and to keep her away from her husband.
He said he told the man to leave, and his other son-in-law also asked him to leave. The man then went to his Jeep and said he “had something for him.” He said he thought the son-in-law grabbed for something, so he fired a shot in the woods and told him to leave.
Officers took their statements and said they planned to contact the wife and other relatives for more information.
