Helping Hand
At 8 pm, callers reported a vehicle stopped in the northbound lane of the Scioto Trail. An officer assisted with moving the vehicle out of the road and dropped the driver off on Kent Street.
Mysterious Gun
A scary discovery at a Summit Street home. A resident found a gun on their back porch at 8:05 pm. An officer impounded the firearm.
PMHA Parking Crackdown
- Police continued their parking crackdown at PMHA properties. At 8:42 pm, they cited a vehicle with tags that expired in May 2020 and arranged to have the vehicle towed.
- Ten minutes later, they found a car parked on the sidewalk of Wayne Avenue and issued a citation.
- Officers stopped a vehicle on Thomas Avenue at 11 pm and warned the driver about non-working tag lights.
- At 12:16 am, police stopped a car on Kendall Avenue for having no tags. They issued a warning.
- Police spotted a vehicle parked in a handicapped spot on Wayne Avenue at 12:25 am. They issued a citation and arranged to have the vehicle towed.
Hey, That’s My Stuff!
Just after 10 pm, police responded to a report of a break-in at a vehicle in the H&R Block Parking Lot. Several items were stolen. Police took information for a report.
Suspicious Activity
- Just after midnight, a caller reported a suspicious man on 24th Street who said he was looking for someone. He also told the caller he “had his piece on him.” Police could not locate the man.
- Officers spotted a man standing out in the middle of the road on 10th Street at 1:44 am. He appeared to be intoxicated. Officers took the man into custody.
- Callers reported two people attempting to get into a house on 6th Street. When police arrived, a man took off running while a woman stayed behind. Police advised her to leave the area.
- At 3:47 am, officers responded to a report of a man bumming money near the pumps at Speedway. Police advised him to leave.
Man Sets Self on Fire, Ends Up in Jail
A medical fire helped send a man to jail. Just before 8 am, someone called 911 but was unable to speak. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a man’s oxygen tank had caused a medical fire.
They also discovered the man had an open warrant from the Lawrence County Jail. Officers took the man into custody. Police met Lawrence County Deputies at the county line to transfer the prisoner.
