Man Strips Down on Scioto Trail and other Weekend Mayhem
Officers responded to multiple reports of out-of-control individuals at local businesses over the weekend.
The calls started coming in just before noon of Friday when AT & T wireless reported a man disturbing customers in front of the Gallia Street Store. He left the area before officers arrived.
Right around 3 pm, an employee of Dollar General in Sciotoville asked officers to bar a former employee from the store. She said the man was fired last year but has returned to the store on multiple occasions and attempted to log into the checkout with his employee information.
When the employee confronted him, he cussed her out and spat on her car. Officers advised her to serve the man with a barred letter when he returned.
Around 11 am on Saturday, callers reported that a man had stripped down near the Four Keys Inn and was walking into traffic. He left the area before the police arrived.
Witnesses reported the same man tweaking near the pool store on the Scioto Trail at 12:30 pm. When police caught up with the man, he explained that he had a mental health issue and was taking medication. Police advised him to stay on the sidewalk and not take off his clothes.
At 9:30 pm, callers reported a man acting strangely in the parking lot at Kroger on Gay Street. Police determined the man was in the midst of a mental health crisis. An ambulance transported him to SOMC for treatment.
