A troubled man with over 60 arrests who has a history of stripping down in public overdosed for the second time in a week on Sunday afternoon.
Just after 4 pm, a call came in reporting a man stripping off his clothes in the parking lot of Tim Horton’s on Chillicothe.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a man battling mental illness and drug issues had overdosed.
An ambulance transported the man to SOMC for treatment.
Under the Influence at Taco Bell
Officers responded to a report of a man stumbling around the parking lot of Taco Bell just before 6:30 pm on Saturday. Police took a man into custody and took information for a report.
Another incident with an intoxicated man came in just after 3 am. This time, a confused man speaking Spanish called 9-1-1 for help. Officers were able to track his phone to the Tim Horton’s Parking lot.
Officers didn’t have much luck helping the intoxicated man find his home until a Spanish-speaking officer from the SCSO stepped in to translate. Police were able to find his house and turn him over to a sober party.
Passed Out on 17th Street
Portsmouth Police Officers and Fire Department medics responded to a report of a woman passed out in a vehicle near the homeless shelter. The witness said the door was open and the car running.
When medics checked on the woman, she seemed to be fine. Officers issued a no-trespass order and advised the woman she was barred from the homeless shelter.
About 30 minutes later, a witness reported a woman acting oddly near the tracks on 10th Street. The caller said she appeared to be on drugs.
Several officers and a unit from the fire department responded to the scene. An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.
